Calculating the good weight range

Now lets calculate our BMI or body mass index.

Lets say Sandra is 1.60 meters tall and weighs 70 kilos.

1.60 x 1.60 = 2.56

70 ÷ 2.56 = 27.34

Sandra's BMI is 27.34

From the BMI chart given below, you can see that Sandra is overweight.

Normal BMI is between 18.5 and 25.

Severely underweight
less than 16.0

from 16.0 to 18.5

from 18.5 to 25

from 25 to 30

Obese Class I
from 30 to 35

Obese Class II
from 35 to 40

Obese Class III
over 40

So what is the ideal weight range for Sandra?
18.5 x 2.56 = 47.36 Kg
25 x 2.56 = 64 Kg

The ideal weight range for Sandra is between 47.36 and 64 kilos.

I'm still at work - its been a hard-working day, but a nice one.

I resisted the urge to pick up a cookie or so, and opted for an apple.

The weather here is divine, so I chose to walk to the nearest post-office instead of performing the same transaction online. Unfortunately on the way, there is this turkish pizzeria. The warm air filled with the most delicious aroma enveloped me as I passed by :)

God - let me die and go to heaven...
Or - is THIS heaven - where you can gobble up a whole pizza and never gain an ounce/gram/whatever?
NO - it certainly isn't - this is planet earth calling Mallica!
Aaah babe, let it go, let it go, let it go.

I survived this one. ;)

The Week Begins

Hi everyone,

Today we are going to do 3 things -

1) We will each be calculating the weight range that is good for us, individually.

2) Exercise 2 - when you have the time, pull out an old pair of jeans that do not fit any more. Most of us have these, don't we? They are usually in the back of the cupboard.
Now we take this pair of jeans and place them in FRONT.
Soon - you will be wearing these.

3) Exercise 3 - Note your weight today. You can do this in a simple chart, or a special weight-loss diary or in a digital document. It doesn't matter how.

The New Age

Age is NO excuse for letting yourself go down the drain!

In fact, we women just like wine and whiskey - get better and better with time! ;))))

Remember this -

40 is the new 30.
50 is the new 35.

This is literally true. We simple live longer and better than any other time in human history.

So - your gorgeoous looks can and will turn heads - whatever your age!

A good example is Elizabeth Hurley - now 46 and still looking fabulous.

Lunch and Further

I had a nice workout. On the way home, I went to the supermarket. I had not planned this, but I found a pack of lean fish filet on discount - perfect! The law of attraction does its thing.

I came home and whisked up a lunch - always quick!

First - I heated up a non-stick saucepan and put in exactly one drop of oil. In this I stir-fried my fish, with some salt, pepper and lemon juice.

I skinned and diced one ripe pear and banana. I washed a few grapes. I tossed all 3 in my old blender to make a delicious smoothie! :) I love this drink.

I opened a can of boiled chick-peas and warmed up a small portion. This is not a good idea - its always better to use fresh, but I'm short on time.

I mixed the fish and the chick-peas together in a bowl. This is my lunch! :)
No bread, no rice? No! I will be explaining more about this as we go.

Sunday Morning

Its sunday morning, and I have a load of work to do - yes, professionally speaking. Running your own business sometimes asks a lot out of a person.

Yet I have made a decision that the work can wait a bit. I'm going to the gym! :)

How thin should one be?

Of course this is an area of personal choice, but there are guidelines to calculate the range of ideal weight. This keeps things realistic.

Consulting your Doctor

It sounds so clich├ęd but I do say this - Please consult your doctor before you embark on any diet, exercise or change program.

If you have issues, or think you may have issues with your heart, kidneys, blood pressure, blood sugar or hormones - do get it checked.

There are some people who are deeply stuck in a resistance zone - they ASSUME that they have a physical problem due to which weight loss would be impossible for them to achieve. For such people too, a medical checkup is a good thing - then you're sure nothing is wrong with you, and you can get on with the weight loss! :)

Stop the yo-yo ing!

The most important thing I will be sharing here is a whole mind-body system by which you will lose all excess weight and KEEP IT OFF.

Fluctuating weight or yo-yo-ing is actually very dangerous for health.

Little Tip for looking fabulous - Never compare yourself with others.

Please do not be intimidated

The person you saw in the last video is Zuzana. She has her own website called BodyRock. You can find her workouts on Youtube.

The main reason I like Zuzana is because she uses only simple or household objects to sculpt her body into that magnificent work of art.

But I don't want you to be intimidated. It is never a good idea to be obsessed with perfection - then your quest becomes driven by EXTERNAL factors and you feel pressured and small.

Our approach here is going to be just the opposite - You are the most important person in your life and one must never be ashamed to step fully into these shoes.

It is time to put yourself on a pedestal.

First we will go through the 4 foundation pillars on which our easy-healthy-happy weight loss program is based on.

Money IS NOT everything!

Wherever I look, I see expensive diet products, supplements, slimming shots, massage equipment - all claiming to help people lose weight.

I do not mind buying good products, even when expensive - but I truly believe that one DOES NOT have to spend a lot of money to lose weight and to look like a million dollars! :))))

The methods, resources and techniques that I will be sharing with you here on this blog will be mostly free or cost very little.

Why do we even bother???

This is 2011 and almost 2012.

I'm sure all, or at least most of the ladies here online reading this - we are liberated, emancipated and indendepent (in varying degrees). We don't HAVE to do anything in order to impress ayone.

Speaking for myself - I feel happiest when I look my best.

I'm sure many women all over the world would agree with me here - When we look great - we do feel great!!!

So - even though it may sound too obvious, let's get one thing clear - we do this for ourselves!!!
All those looks of admiration and those heads that turn when we pass by - these are all a bonus to enjoy ;)


Yes, we will be going into losing weight. What I find infinitely more important is - losing weight with ease, without torturing oneself and being happy.

If I really had to choose between being very slender but unhappy and a few kilos more being happy - I would always choose the second one. But the good news is - we don't need to choose - we can have it all!

This blog is actually more about being healthy and happy. We will be touching many issues about a creating, maintaining and nurturing fantastic body, good health and beauty.

We will have a forum discussion group entirely dedicated to this blog on our network. So we can all discuss things there. This will also act as a support group for those who wish to lose weight and those who wish to stop yo-yo-ing and stabilize their weight.
